Mathews Market Days set for September 10-11
The 36th annual Mathews Market Days festival will take place in historic downtown Mathews on Friday and Saturday, September 10-11. The festival will showcase about 90 booths displaying local arts and crafts, food items and many locally-made products.
Oyster Gardeners training September 18
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) needs volunteer oyster gardeners living on the Northern Neck or Middle Peninsula to grow oysters alongside docks for restoration and return them next year to be planted on sanctuary oyster reefs in local waterways.

Nelson becomes Eagle Scout
Joe Sherman Nelson, son of Alice and Todd Nelson of Wake, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouting, during an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony last Thursday at the Christ Church Parish House.
