Deadrise ‘Miss Ruth’ donated to Maritime Museum
Miss Ruth was run as a charter fishing boat by Captain Harrow until 2007. Captain Harrow has been a waterman since his teens and has held his captain’s license for over 50 years. During his career he has been an oysterman, crabber, yacht captain, deadrise boat builder, carpenter and charter boat captain.

Friendly goose becomes town marina mascot
No one knows from where the white goose came. But her agreeable personality has made her popular at the Urbanna Town Marina at Upton’s Point. “Aflac” as she is known, showed up about 6 weeks ago at the town marina on Urbanna Creek, where she’s found a home—and a place to get a handout.
7th annual Holly Point Art & Seafood Fest is Oct. 9
Described as “the best art festival on the Peninsula” by museum and park officials, the festival will feature over 70 artists working in oil, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, fabric, glass, stoneware and other media coming together for an exciting display of the arts on the over 30 acres of Holly Point Nature Park.
