Hallowed Ground Haunted House opens Saturday
This year the Middlesex High band’s “Hallowed Ground Haunted House” has a new location and brings with it an expansion to last year’s overall size. Admission is only $5 per person for all ages with free parking.
Sails on the Rappahannock: Turkey Shoot Regatta
Sailboats filled the lower Rappahannock River at the mouth of the Corrotoman this past weekend for the Hospice Turkey Shoot Regatta. A record 141 monohull sailboats entered the 2-day racing event, which raised funds for area hospices. Click through to see the results.
Virginia St. Cafe: Smoke-free Business of the Year
Virginia Street Cafe was recognized for its exceptional work in promoting smoke-free dining and smoke-free workplaces in its community. Owner Judy Wade, who quit smoking herself 15 years ago, took her restaurant completely smoke-free on November 1, 2008 in the middle of the popular annual Urbanna Oyster Festival.
Music of 50s, 60s, 70s this Saturday in Urbanna
It will be the final “Music Under the Stars” concert of 2009. Although there is no cost to attend, donations will be accepted. “Music Under the Stars” is presented by the Special Events Committee of the Urbanna Business Association. Bring chairs and blankets in case of chilly weather.
