Christmas celebration is Sunday in Deltaville
The Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary Love Light Celebration will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, at the Deltaville Firehouse with refreshments, entertainment and a visit from Santa. The public is invited to attend.
Docents in colonial attire to guide visitors at Lansdowne
The annual Urbanna Christmas Tour will be Saturday, December 5, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some locations open again on Sunday, December 6, from noon to 4:30 p.m. The 2009 tour will again feature a “designer showcase” home, “Walesa,” just outside of Urbanna on Old Virginia Street.
Farmers’ market, ‘Pierwalk Promenade’ due

Local shells could be over 20 million years old
Petuch said 20 million years ago Urbanna and most of Middlesex was in the middle of a huge body of water called the Calvert Sea, and shells from that period can be found today along the river and creek banks throughout the county.
