‘33 EAST’ to perform Saturday in Urbanna
image“33 EAST” will take the stage from 7 to 9 p.m. this Saturday, August 18, in the final Music Under The Stars concert of the year at Taber Park in Urbanna. The concert is free & open to the public. Bring lawn chairs, blankets & picnic baskets. MVFD will sell hamburgers, hot dogs & soft drinks.

Oyster Fest Foundation donates $2,500 to museum
imageThe Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation recently voted to contribute $2,500 to the rebuilding fund of the Deltaville Maritime Museum, which recently burned. Festival spokesman Joe Heyman told museum representatives that the Oyster Festival Foundation recognized the positive impact the museum has had on the county.

Wish-A-Fish program treats local children to a fishing expedition
imageEarly this past Saturday morning at Holly Point Nature Park in Deltaville the sound of children giggling over the roar of diesel engines could be heard. If one looked closely through the mist, he could also see the “Tortuga” pulling away from the dock for the third annual Wish-A-Fish expedition.

Williams publishes first novel
imageMX Publishing has released the first novel of Samuel Williams Jr. of San Bernardino, California, a former Middlesex County resident and a graduate of Christchurch School. The book is titled “Anomalous: A Sherlock Holmes Adventure featuring Jack Johnson and Alphonse Capone.”
