The Art on the Half Shell fine art and fine crafts festival will be held this Saturday, May 14, in Urbanna and 50 juried artists will display their works. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Shane Cooley concert to benefit Zoar
Shane Cooley will hold a benefit concert for Zoar Baptist Church from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at Deltaville Ballpark. There will be no admission fee. The proceeds will benefit the Zoar post-tornado rebuilding effort.
Accolades given to ‘F.D. Crockett’ volunteers
A beautiful day greeted the 100 or so guests who attended the dedication and re-christening of the “F.D. Crockett” at Deltaville Boatyard on Saturday, May 7. A resplendent Crockett floated five feet from the podium while friends and family spoke passionately about her rebirth.
Urbanna Farmers’ Market is Saturday in Taber Park
The first Urbanna Farmers’ Market of the season will be held Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. during the Art on the Half Shell festival. The market will be in Taber Park on Rappahannock Avenue and will feature a variety of food, art and crafts. The public is invited to attend.
Vesley-Massey is new president of Bay Aging
On April 30, former Bay Aging Operations Officer Kathy Vesley-Massey became the organization’s president and chief executive officer. She succeeded Allyn Gemerek, who recently announced his retirement.
