Vendors/volunteers sought for Deltaville Heritage Day
Plans are under way for the annual Deltaville Community Association Heritage Day on Saturday, July 2. Events will include the Pet Parade, Children’s Parade, Heroes Parade and the Crab Races. Music, food, art and craft vendors will be featured.
Saturday’s Urbanna Farmers’ Market to feature 34 vendors
The Urbanna Farmers’ Market will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, at Taber Park on Rappahannock Avenue in Urbanna. Vendors of fresh produce, homemade food, art and crafts, plants, clothing, jewelry and more will be at the market. There will be live music, a raffle and food vendors.
RAL to offer art camps in Deltaville and Hartfield
The Rappahannock Art League (RAL) will again offer Summer Fun Art Camps. These popular camps are again expected to be well attended and extend the art learning and appreciation over the months of summer school vacation. They will be held in Kilmarnock Deltaville, Hartfield and Heathsville.
YMCA Summer Camp 2011
YMCA’s Summer Camp is held for 10 weeks beginning June 20 and ending August 26. Camp hours are 7 a.m.-6 p.m., and the cost is $82 for members and $97 for program participants. You may also send your child daily at a rate of $25 per day for members and $35 per day for program participants.
Tornado victims out of hospital
After nearly a month in hospitals, the two Warner women injured in a tornado on Saturday, April 16, are out and living with relatives. A short time after the Warner tornado, a stronger tornado twirled a path through Deltaville and toppled Zoar Baptist Church and destroyed or damaged nearly 30 homes.
