Civil War Balloon Corps re-enactors to land in Yorktown and Gloucester
imageOn Saturday, May 26, the Civil War Balloon Observation Exhibit will be featured at the Yorktown Battlefield from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kevin Knapp, a retired Army officer, professional balloon pilot and Civil War Balloon Corps enthusiast, will share presentations on how balloons were used for observation and surveillance by both the North and the South.

Deltaville offers variety of events for Memorial Day
Saturday, May 26, promises to be event-filled at Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park in Deltaville. Billz Bistro opens at 8 a.m.; the Deltaville Farmers’ Market kicks off at 9 a.m.; free creek cruises and boat tours begin on the waterfront at 10 a.m.; and “Jumbo Lump Daddy and the Backfin Boys” take the Waterfront Stage for a Groovin in the Park concert from 6-8 p.m.

Curator of Vietnam Veterans Memorial to speak
On June 4, Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington will host the final presentation in its Viewpoints 2012 series. Duery Felton Jr., curator of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Collection, will speak about the collection and share photos and other images of some of the artifacts.
