Boy Scout Troop 341 tours Capitol
Members of Boy Scout Troop 341 visited Richmond as part of their “Citizenship in the Nation” merit badge, one of the 12 Eagle-required merit badges.
Big band tunes coming to Taber Park Saturday
The first “Music Under the Stars” concert of the season in Urbanna this Saturday, May 16, in Taber Park will feature a program of big band music. Jan Williams and “The Little Big Band,” a trio of musicians, will perform favorite standards, big band, and swing music from the 1920s through the 2000s.
Museum offers preview of Deltaville Centennial
Last Saturday’s season opening of the Deltaville Maritime Museum unveiled for the first time two plaques, one for the founding members and the other for supporters of the "Explorer" project. In years to come, new contributors will be added to both plaques to recognize their new or continuing support.
Oyster Fair is Saturday at Christchurch School
The Tidewater Oyster Gardeners Association will hold its Middle Peninsula Oyster Fair at Christchurch School on Rt. 33 at Christchurch on Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. The fair is open to the public with no preregistration required.
Deltaville Heritage Day seeks vendors & volunteers
Plans are under way for the Annual Deltaville Heritage Day on Saturday, July 4. Also celebrated on that day will be Deltaville's 100th Anniversary. Events will include the Pet Parade, Children's Parade, Heroes Parade and crab races.
