New trolley coming to Urbanna
A new trolley will be circulating through and around Urbanna this summer, and the good news is that it was purchased 100 percent with federal stimulus funds, said Melissa H. Phillips, transit director and senior vice president of Bay Aging.
2010 Working Waterman’s Weekend
“Alice’s Restaurant” may be long gone, but you can still get “anything you want” at the Deltaville Maritime Museum’s “Working Waterman’s Weekend” festival this Saturday, May 1. From the kick-off Farmers’ Market starting at 9 a.m. through the first “Groovin’ in the Park” from 5 to 7 p.m., the museum and park’s opening-day activities offer something for everyone.
Kym Rock’s ‘Fight Like A Girl’ program is a candidate for Pepsi ‘Refresh Everything’ grant
Former Middlesex County resident Kimberly Rock, daughter of John and Janet Blake of Hartfield, is on a mission and needs help with some on-line voting. She’s taking her self-defense and education program, “Fight Like A Girl,” on a year-long national tour to train instructors and establish ongoing programs and classes in every state.
2010 Leukemia Cup schedule of events announced
This year’s exciting event calendar is now finalized. One change is that the auction and gala will be sited at the Stingray Harbour Yacht Club in Deltaville, while racing activities will still be based at the Fishing Bay Yacht Club in Deltaville. Both of the clubs are co-sponsoring the Leukemia Cup Regatta.
