Celia Rowlson-Hall earns ‘Bessie Award’
Former Urbanna resident Celia Rowlson-Hall recently received the “Bessie Award” for her dance performance in Faye Driscoll’s “837 Venice Boulevard” in New York City.
“The Bessies are awards given on awards night for the New York dance community . . . and is as close as us downtown folks get to the red carpet!” said Rowlson-Hall.

The 53rd Urbanna Oyster Festival set for Nov. 5-6
The 53rd annual Urbanna Oyster Festival is set for Friday and Saturday, November 5-6, and once again good times and a variety of delicious food and lively music are planned for the tens of thousands of expected visitors. The tall ship “Godspeed” will arrive at the Urbanna waterfront on Thursday, Nov. 4, and be open for tours on Friday and Saturday of the festival.
‘Scary Halloween’ set for Saturday at Holly Point
One of Middlesex County’s favorite and scariest Halloween events, “Scary Halloween in the Park,” will be held this Saturday, October 30, from 6-8:30 p.m. on the 36-acre grounds of the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park in Deltaville. There will be plenty of parking for everyone. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
