The Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation’s Rappahannock Institute for Lifelong Learning (RILL) will explore Mexican history and current events in the upcoming three-session course “Why is Mexico Mexico?—Looking to our South,” taught by Morris D. Busby.
Humane Society auction is Saturday in Gloucester

Bird expert, author to address Audubon Society
On Monday, February 6, at 7 p.m., the Northern Neck Audubon Society will host a program titled “Miss Hathaway and Her Kind: Images of Birders in U.S. Popular Culture.” The public is invited to this program at Grace Episcopal Church in Kilmarnock. Refreshments will be served.
Local dog being trained for search-and-rescue
Maryanne Gibson of Jamaica and her 14-month-old Belgium Malinois, “Diva,” have been selected by K-9 Alert Inc. to be trained to “search and rescue” (SAR). Gibson and Diva started training in May and Gibson became a handling-in-training member of K-9 Alert in September.
