Despite adversity, spirit of Deltaville burns bright
April 16, 2011, like any other day, was just 24 hours long. But, it’s a day that will not be forgotten. It’s the day a tornado twisted through the heart of Deltaville. In minutes the storm destroyed the Zoar Baptist Church building, several homes and seriously damaged the Deltaville Community Association building.
Model train club preserves memories of yesteryear
Once upon a time the train was the focal point of many towns, some of which owed their very existence to the railroad. The howl of a whistle announced the arrival of the train that was bringing passengers, news, mail and goods that otherwise the townspeople would do without.
Christmas Friends gifts delivered; donations are $4,100 below goal
Christmas Friends has nearly completed another year of helping the needy. With just a few hitches, over 350 gift bags, bicycles and other riding toys were delivered throughout Middlesex County last Saturday. The effort involved 13 private vans and a crew of 26 volunteers.
