Miss Morris crowned queen of the Holly Ball
Miss LeighAnna Virginia Morris of Warsaw was crowned Queen of the Holly Realm Wednesday evening, December 28, at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club in Kilmarnock. Miss Morris was chosen to serve as the 116th queen of the Holly Ball, the Tidewater Foundation’s fund-raising arm.

Arts on Main to display work of furniture maker
Andrew Pitts of Heathsville developed his taste for furniture making when he was an ensign in the Navy. During his 30-year career in the Navy he was a nuclear trained warfare officer. He started making furniture for his house and continued during his Navy career when he wasn’t at sea.
Bena Music Series to open
The 2012 Bena Music Festival will open at 8 p.m. Saturday, January 7, with the M.S.G. Acoustic Blues Trio. The Bena Country Store at 8835 Guinea Road in Hayes regularly hosts original music from folk-Americana-bluegrass singer-songwriters, said proprietor John Warren.
