Indian tribe official to discuss federal recognition
Wayne Adkins, first assistant chief of the Chickahominy Indian Tribe, will discuss how federal tribal recognition is defined, what is required to obtain it, and why a tribe might want it at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 3, meeting at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock, as part of the Sundays at Two discussion series.

Steamboat Era Museum open house is March 3
imageThe Steamboat Era Museum in Irvington will sponsor an open house on Sunday, March 3, from 2-6 p.m. The Museum is currently a mess, said a museum spokesperson. The exhibits have been dismantled, the shop is empty and the Potomac Pilothouse is coming.

Knights St. Patrick’s Dinner Dance slated for March 16
The 22nd Annual Knights of Columbus Council 11210 St. Patrick’s Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday, March 16, at the Piankatank River Golf Club Steamboat Restaurant in Hartfield. The cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m.
