‘Wildman’ and ‘Bad Ace’ to perform at Donk’s

Richard Smith, who is affectionately known as “Wildman” because of his unequalled talent as a drummer and energetic singer, will take the stage at Donk’s Theater in Mathews on Saturday, July 6, with the “Bad Ace” band.

The son of Uncle Jimmy Wickham of Donk’s, Smith began his career singing with “Jimmy and the Kids,” went on to become the State Junior Entertainer, drummer for “Shades of Country” band, drummer for “Live Wire” band, formed the gospel group “Joyful Noise,” and now is a member of “Bad Ace.”

The first half of the show on July 6 will feature the Opry regulars and Shades of Country performing patriotic songs in a tribute to the USA. Show time is 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children. For reservations and information, call 725-7760 or visit http://www.donkstheater.com
