On December 6 the holiday spirit was everywhere at Gloucester Arts on Main. The evening started with the Ware Academy Bell Choir, under the direction of Aaron Ward, playing a medley of Christmas songs. The energy of the young performers was contagious as they did three renditions of “Jingle Bells,” each time faster than the previous one. They also played Christmas favorites such as “Drummer Boy” and “Silent Night.”
When the bell ringers finished, musical duo Pam and Bill Gurley took over the entertainment for the rest of the evening with a mixture of B=bluegrass, spiritual and country music, including original songs by Bill Gurley, who showed his virtuosity by playing guitar, banjo and violin.
The artists for the month of December—elementary school teacher and artist “Jeffro” Helm and Williamsburg potter Bob Leek—also were present with their families.
