Suspense is the word for the Court House Players new production “Wait Until Dark” showing Thursday through Sunday, November 15-18, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Gloucester.

Billed as one of the 100 scariest movies ever made, the play skips the slash and chop of most horror movies to scare you with real people. It is the story of a blind woman whose husband unknowingly brings home a doll filled with an illegal substance. Several gangsters are on the trail of the doll, which they have smuggled into the country. They work their way into the blind woman’s confidence, but she is on to them, and from there the story is hide and seek ending in a terrifying violent confrontation.

The play’s cast includes Court House Players veterans Carolyn Molly, Tom Witty, John Dempsey and James King, and newcomers Kat Neikirk and Mark Elliot. The director is Kitty Witty and producers are Tammi Dempsey and Christine Britton.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be dinner theater starting at 6 p.m. The Sunday matinee is a show only at 3 p.m. Dinner theater tickets are $30. Matinee tickets are $18 in advance, $17 for seniors and students, and $20 at the door.
