‘Virginia Seafood Lover’ license plate unveiled

There must be 350 prepaid applications for the new license plate to be offered.
The Virginia Marine Products Board has announced the new Virginia Seafood Lover license plate. The new license plate is being introduced to support the marketing that is necessary to keep Virginia in the top three largest producers of marine products in the nation, and to help in promoting the aquaculture industry of clams, oysters, and fish.

In order for the plate to be released in 2010, 350 prepaid applications must be received by the Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). After 1,000 tags are sold, $15 of each annual plate renewal will benefit the marketing efforts for Virginia seafood.

Applications are available at locations throughout the Commonwealth and locally at Hair Port in Urbanna, Big John’s Convenience Store in Church View, J&W Seafood in Deltaville, Keeper’s in Saluda, Middlesex Lawn & Garden at Locust Hill, Piankatank River Golf Club and Steamboat Restaurant in Hartfield, Shores & Ruark Seafood in Urbanna, Urbanna Builders’ Supply in Saluda, and Urbanna Auto & Marine Sales in Urbanna.

Applications and more idetails are also available at
