The Urbanna Farmers’ Market Committee is still accepting vendor applications for its first market of the season from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at Taber Park.
“We do have extra space!” said committee member Carolyn Boggs. “Many of our old friends and several newcomers will be set up for the season’s kick-off event, but we extend an open invitation to new vendors who wish to participate on May 10 as well as throughout the season.”
The market is held on the second Saturday of each month from May through September.
There’s also space available for “Vintage Pickers” vendors, a new addition to the market. The Vintage Pickers area will be designated at the market site in May for sellers and buyers of antiques, collectibles, family treasures and vintage items. The Vintage Pickers area will be restricted to quality items only. Call 758-1606 for more details.
Market Saturdays at Taber Park will include live music by Morgan Stewart, antics by “Lynette the Dancing Crab,” and a Kettle Korn wagon. Vendors will be in their usual places at the park and will offer a “down home” selection of local produce, fresh flowers and herbs, locally-made goat cheese, soaps and honey, organic beef and sausages, and a variety of arts and crafts.
There’s always plenty of parking space and there is a playground for the children.
