The winners of the Urbanna Christmas Decorating Contest were announced on Monday. Due to bad weather the judging was done a week later than scheduled.

The three categories are traditional, whimsical and businesses.

In the traditional category, the home of Joe and Sharon Minarisk on Waverly Road was first; the home of Jack and Diana Pitts of Kent Street was second; and the home of Boyd and Brenda Wiley on Cross St. was third.

In the whimsical category, the home of Shelly and Keith Hodges in Garnett Hill was first; the home of Butch and Teresa Liverman in Urbanna Harbour Subdivision was second; and the home of Jan and Jim Stillwagen in Garnett Hill was third.

In the business category, first place went to Kathleen M. Hall, CPA, on Virginia St.; the Southside Sentinel on Virginia St. was second; and EVB Bank on Virginia St. was third.
Ribbons were awarded to the top finishers.

The contest, a long-standing Urbanna tradition, was sponsored by the Urbanna Business Association and the Town of Urbanna.
