‘Toys Across Middlesex’ is Saturday in Deltaville
“Toys Across Middlesex,” a Christmas fundraiser for needy children of Middlesex County, will be held from 5-10 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, at the Deltaville Firehouse.
The event is being coordinated by Mike Hess, and his plans call for a dinner consisting of Fat Daddy’s famous smoked-pulled pork barbecue and beef brisket sandwiches, fresh local fried oysters, cole slaw, homemade side dishes, and dessert.
There will also be draft beer, wine by the glass, and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy. Dinner will take place from 5-7 p.m. with a social gathering and DJ following from 7-10 p.m.
“You will not be required to be over 21 for the dinner, but after 7:30 p.m. you must be of legal drinking age,” said Hess.
Tickets cost $18 per person, which includes dinner as well as two alcoholic beverage tickets. After that, all alcoholic beverages must be purchased for $5 each.
Dinner and beverage tickets may be purchased with cash or with toys of equal or greater value. “The objective of this is to produce as many gifts as possible for the children of Middlesex, so why not bring a load of presents instead of cash!” said Hess.
“Social Services indicates there is a significant drop in available gifts for children ages 10 up through a high school senior, so let’s try and accommodate that as much as possible,” said Hess.
