Plans are under way for the Middlesex Relay for Life beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 16, and continuing until 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Middlesex County Sports Complex in Locust Hill. Those working on the event are, above from left, team co-captains Zach Burch and Nancy Hazzard, team captain Crystal Burch, team captain Cindy Kellar, team captain Celeste Curtis, South Atlantic Relay for Life specialist Lisa Goodall, Suzette Babcock, Relay for Life co-chair and team captain Annette Greenwood, and co-team captain Wilma Williams.

Middlesex Relay for Life will host its main event beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 16, and continuing until 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Middlesex County Sports Complex in Locust Hill.

“Our Relay event is an incredible and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor cancer survivors, raise awareness about what we can do to reduce our cancer risk and raise money to partner with the American Cancer Society to fight the disease,” said Middlesex Relay for Life co-chair and team captain Annette Greenwood. “There is still time to form a team, raise money, and volunteer by signing up and participating with our teams as a community to relay for life. We do want to thank each and everyone who has donated thus far to our goal of $22,000 for Middlesex County.”

This year’s event will consist of a survivors lap, luminaries, live music, food, vendors, children’s games, race cars and drivers and much more. More information will follow in the weeks to come as the event date approaches. Contact Greenwood co-chair at 758-4279 or co-chair Theresa Anderson at 758-9850 for more information.
