Telehealth broadcast on lung disease Wednesday

The Northern Neck Middle Peninsula Telehealth Consortium (NNMPTC) in collaboration with Med-Air Homecare is sponsoring a health education program on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) to be broadcast to several sites on Wednesday, February 24, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The program will be presented by Brandi Yeatman, RCP.

Topics will include: understanding your lungs and the disease process; better breathing techniques; oxygen therapy; common respiratory medications; and questions and answers.

This program will be offered free to the public at the following sites via videoconferencing: Middlesex County Health Department in Saluda, Lancaster County Health Department in Lancaster, Gloucester County Health Department in Gloucester, Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock, and Northern Neck Middle Peninsula Telehealth Office at Riverside Tappahannock Hospital. Brandi Yeatman is a respiratory therapist who has been working in the Northern Neck for the last 12 years. She has specialized in pulmonary rehabilitation and home care. She currently serves as the clinical and education coordinator for Med-Air Homecare in Tappahannock.

NNMPTC will offer other educational programs on various topics, including CHF, diabetes, asthma and depression.
