‘TAP-The Show’ celebrates the artistry of tap dance
March 23 in West Point
Matt Davenport Productions Inc. has thrilled West Point audiences for years with shows like “On Broadway,” “American Spirit,” and “American Jukebox.” This year, Arts Alive is proud to present another Matt Davenport Production: “TAP—The Show.”
Winner of the 2010 Heartbeat Award, the top IAAPA accolade, TAP—The Show is fueled by a non-stop explosion of rhythmic energy. Wrapped in dazzling costumes and backed by a soaring orchestral score, this cast of eight award-winning dancers and two singers travels seamlessly over decades of styles from Broadway and big band to world music and pop/rock.
Arts Alive will present this performance on Saturday, March 23, at 7 p.m. in the Robinson/Olsson Civic Auditorium and Fine Arts Center in West Point.
Tickets for this show are available online at artsaliveinc.org, at the C&F Bank branches in West Point, or by calling 804-843-3475. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door. Tickets for individual performances are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors (65 and over), and $10 for students. Group rates are available at $15 each for groups of 10 or more.
The opening of the “Invitational Exhibit: Jeanette Wagner and Brett Breneman” will be held in the exhibit area of the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. on March 23. This exhibit, which includes selected works of two talented artists from our community, will be on display from February 19-March 26 in the auditorium.
