Tai Chi is coming to Urbanna

At 9 a.m. on Fridays, starting July 12, Wyatt Portz of Moving Breath Yoga will offer ongoing Tai Chi classes at the Middlesex Woman’s Club in Urbanna.

In recent years, Tai Chi has become increasingly popular in the United States. Studies have shown it to be extremely helpful in improving strength, balance, mental focus and well-being, and enhancing quality of life. Tai Chi also alleviates stress and encourages a restful, relaxed approach to living.

Although it’s optimal to attend all six beginning classes, often it’s not possible, so students are always welcomed to attend when they can. Since no more than two new movements will be taught each class, and every week will include a review, all will most likely be proficient by the end of the series. And of course, Tai Chi will continue weekly throughout the year. Current yoga students may use their Moving Breath Yoga passes; new students may pay for the whole beginning series ($48), or pay for as a drop-in ($10).

For more information about Tai Chi as well as additional classes offered by Moving Breath Yoga, please call Wyatt Portz at (831) 233-1786.
