Steamboat Era Holiday Marketplace continues

More than 500 shoppers attended the Fourth Annual Holiday Marketplace at the Steamboat Era Museum in Irvington on November 24-25. Shopping at the Marketplace continues for the next two Saturdays, December 9 and 16, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to purchase handmade jewelry, baskets, bird carvings, soaps, birdhouses, garden art and other gift items from more than 20 artisans. A few of the new Chesapeake Bay scarves are still available as well as signed copies of Pat Roses’s book, “Tides That Bind-Weems, VA.” The gift shop is full of holiday decorations, ornaments and hostess gifts.

A portion of the proceeds supports the museum, which is at 156 King Carter Drive, Irvington. For more information call the museum at 438-6888 or visit
