Spring and summer goodies offered at Urbanna Farmers Market Saturday

“Old Dogs, New Tricks” (above) will perform at the Urbanna Farmers Market this Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Taber Park.

by Ginny Sawkins

There’ll be a lot going on this Saturday, June 9, at the Urbanna Farmers Market in Taber Park. Beginning at 9 a.m. and winding down at 1 p.m., expect to find the great choices in local seasonal home-grown vegetables that are standard for Market Saturdays accompanied by vendors from Lovers Retreat Goat Dairy Farm, Miss Mary’s Seafood Truck, the Muffin Top Bakery, Rock Oil candles, Remlik Hall Farm/Tall Cotton Farm, fresh flowers and plants, homemade ice cream, alpaca products and much more.

Grab a smoothie from the Smoothie Hut and wander the park to find local artwork, jewelry, crafts, clothes and new-on-the-scene hand-painted beach umbrella tables way too fun to pass up. The market wouldn’t be complete without live music and this Saturday, returning by popular demand, “Old Dogs, New Tricks” will be playing again thanks to the grateful support of our music patrons, Kerry and Jim Robusto, Hunter Law Realty, Auto Spa, Something Different, Half Shell Grill, Marshall’s Drug Store, Cyndy’s Bynn, Bethpage Campground and the Bay Design Group.

Bring your family, friends and fido for a morning of easy country-style living in Urbanna. Are you an interested vendor? Come on, set up your tent and your wares for the small space fee of $20. It’s fun and it all supports the Urbanna Business Association. The Urbanna Farmers Market takes place at Taber Park every second Saturday through October. For more information, call 804-725-8506 or visit the market’s FaceBook page.
