‘Shotgun Blues Brotherhood’ concert to benefit Puller Center

Shotgun Blues Brotherhood will perform a benefit concert at Gloucester Arts on Main this Friday, September 13.

September is Sweet Charity Month at Gloucester Arts on Main. Two musical events are scheduled to raise money for two local charities.

The first event will take place on Friday, September 13, from 6-9 p.m. and is to support the Lewis P. Puller Center, whose mission is to create a world where people with development and other disabilities enjoy dignified productive lives of their choosing, as fully accepted members of society. The Puller Center provides long-term employment, training and day support services to nearly 60 adults with disabilities from 10 counties on the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck and provides the only work center in the area.

The music for the evening will feature the Middle Peninsula’s own “Shotgun Blues Brotherhood”—a band dedicated to the music and characters in the “Blues Brothers” movie featuring the adventures of Jake and Elwood on their “Mission from God.”

The public is invited to attend and enjoy the music, art from the Puller Center, auction, food, and a cash bar.

Gloucester Arts on Main is a non-profit organization at 6580-B Main Street, Gloucester. Call 824-9464 for more information.
