Ring Andersen headed to France

“Ring Andersen” (above) departed Deltaville on Saturday, September 5, in beautiful weather bound for Bermuda on the first leg of her trip to LaRochelle, France. Her next stop is the Azores.

Rick Farinholt and Dave Bushey, both of Deltaville, are aboard the vessel along with the crew. Bushey will fly back from Bermuda while Farinholt will continue the journey to France.

“Ring Andersen” was purchased by Philippie Besnard and has been under restoration at Chesapeake Marine Railway in Deltaville since January. It is a 114-foot vessel built as a Baltic sailing trader.  She was used from 1948 to 1962 to transport wheat, sugar, flour and fish. She has since been converted to a yacht. (Photo by Bob Cerullo)
