The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts will present the final concert in its 2009-2010 series with a concert by the Richmond Symphony on Sunday, March 14, at 2:30 p.m. in the Lancaster Middle School Theater.

Tickets are $28 and may be reserved by calling the RFA office at 435-0292.

Season sponsors for the On Stage series are the Bank of Lancaster and Bay Trust; the program sponsor for the Richmond Symphony is Dunton, Simmons and Dunton.

The concert will feature works by Lili Boulanger and Jennifer Higdon, as well as Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major featuring violinist Tai Murray.

The concert will be led by the Richmond Symphony’s associate conductor and interim artistic advisor, Erin Freeman. Dr. Freeman is equally at home in the orchestral, choral and opera worlds. At the age of 17, she was accepted as the youngest member of the Atlanta Symphony Chorus and continued that association singing with the Atlanta Symphony Chamber Chorus and the Robert Shaw Memorial Singers.

She is the winner of numerous awards, including the Peabody’s Baltimore Music Club Prize in Performance and the Women’s Philharmonic Conducting Scholarship.

Dr. Freeman received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University, a master’s degree in conducting from the Boston University School for the Arts, and a doctorate of musical arts in orchestral conducting with Gustav Meier and Markand Thakar at the Peabody Conservatory.
