Relay for Life festivities begin Friday

Relay for Life of Middlesex will be held this Friday and Saturday, May 3-4, at the Middlesex Sports Complex on Route 33 in Locust Hill. The public is invited to attend. The schedule of events is as follows:

Friday’s Events
Registration opens at 5 p.m. Teams can start setting up at 3 p.m.; the Survivor Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m.; the opening ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m.; DJ Paul Kellar will play music all night and Dale Gibson will serve as emcee for the evening; the opening prayer followed by guest speaker Gail Keefe will be at 7 p.m.; and the “Throwin’ Wake” band will play from 7-9 p.m.

Also survivor and caregiver team laps begin at 7:30 p.m.; there will be door prizes and a silent auction; luminaries will be lit at sunset followed by Susan Hurley-Fowler giving the caregiver speech; talent show contestants will perform at 10 p.m.; karaoke at 11 p.m.; zumba at midnight.

Saturday’s Events
A movie with popcorn will be at 2 a.m.; breakfast from Hardee’s at 5:30 a.m.; and the closing ceremony at 6 a.m.
