Registration continues for RiverRide cycling event

On September 25-27, the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce will present the 4th Annual Northern Neck RiverRide, the event that brings hundreds of bicycle riders to Lancaster and Northumberland counties.

The Northern Neck RiverRide is a family-friendly event where bicycle riders leisurely explore this scenic country area and visit historic sites.  Camping at Camp KeKoKa on Indian Creek in Kilmarnock is included in the registration.

The fully supported Saturday ride will offer riders a choice of routes; English Century (101 miles), Metric Century (68 miles), Half Century (55 miles) and One-Third Century (33 miles).  On Sunday, unsupported rides are available through the local BikeWalk Virginia chapter.

Teams are being formed to help promote awareness and fund raising for their specific causes. At the present time, teams supporting the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition are planning on participating in this event.

Chesapeake Bank vice president Tom Richardson will chair the 2009 RiverRide and Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce executive director Edie Jett is the event coordinator. Ms. Jett may be contacted at 804-435–6092 or .
