Puller Memorial due Sunday

The Old Dominion Chapter of the First Marine Division Association will once again sponsor a memorial service to honor Virginia native, Lieutenant General Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller for his service to the United States and the U.S. Marine Corps.

The service this year will be Sunday, November 15, at 2 p.m. at Christ Church Parish. The church is on Route 33 East, approximately 4 miles east of Saluda and next to Christchurch School.

The event will be a dual celebration, a memorial service honoring General Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller and to also celebrate the 234th anniversary of the establishment of the U.S. Marine Corps.

All veterans and members of the public are invited to attend.

For more information or directions to Christchurch, call William Uehling, chapter president, at (703) 978-4530; John Harrison, vice president at (804) 358-4434; or Floyd Newkirk, chapter secretary, at (757) 340-9801.
