Public invited to reception at Arts on Main
String quartet will perform

On Friday, January 24, at 6 p.m. there will be a reception at Gloucester Arts on Main for the present and future members of the gallery as well as the general public interested in supporting the cultural center which contributes to the Middle Peninsula communities.
The evening will feature music by a string quartet from the Hampton Roads Philharmonic Orchestra. This group made their professional debut at the Ferguson Center on October 20 and are the resident orchestra at Fort Monroe.
After playing for an hour, there will be a short presentation highlighting the gallery’s volunteer staff, its successful programs and achievements to date, and its vision for the future of the gallery.
There will then be a short question-and-answer period followed by a presentation by artist/teacher Jean Paul Angelhart, who will discuss and demonstrate her experience with watercolors as an art form as well as highlight the elements of the workshop that she will give at the gallery on Saturday and Sunday, January 25-26.
All are invited to attend.
The gallery’s regular hours are noon-6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. All the activities at Gloucester Arts on Main are partially supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
