‘Planet Full of Blues’ concert set for July 15

Planet Full of Blues

On Friday, July 15, from 6-9 p.m., the Gloucester-Mathews-Middlesex Animal Shelter will host “Woofstock 2011” at the shelter in Gloucester. The band “Planet Full of Blues” will donate a night of their blues music to the animals of the shelter.

Food, soft drinks, adult beverages, and shelter and band merchandise will be available for purchase.

Ellen Thacker, executive director of the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society (GMHS) said, “We are excited to welcome Planet Full of Blues to the shelter. They are already generous supporters of the animals and we greatly appreciate the donation of their talents for this concert event. We hope to see everyone out in support of this great night for the animals.”

Tickets to the concert are $15 each and are available at Angelwing Stationers in Gloucester Court House, the Gloucester Point location of Green Gates Gifts, the Mathews Visitors Center, Papeterie in Urbanna or at the shelter.

The Gloucester-Mathews-Middlesex Animal Shelter of the Gloucester Mathews Humane Society is at 6620 Jackson Lane in Gloucester. The shelter is open to the public on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., and on Wednesdays from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.  The shelter is closed on Sundays.
