‘Patriots plaque’ to be dedicated

Founders Commemorative Plaque
On Saturday, March 27 at 2:30 p. m., a bronze plaque will be dedicated marking the gravesites of colonial patriots interred in the Historic Christ Church in Irvington.

Presented jointly by the Virginia Society of the Order of the Founders and Patriots of America, the Richard Henry Lee Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Virginia Society of the Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of America, and the War if 1812 Society in Virginia, the plaque bears the names of two founders (residents of Virginia prior to 1673), two Revolutionary War patriots, and six War of 1812 soldiers.

Speakers and presenters will include Stanley L. Cichowicz, president, RHLSAR; Myron E. Lymon Sr., governor, VASOFPA; Carla W. Odem, president, VADFPA; and Thadeus L Hartman, president, Virginia Society-War of 1812.

The presentation will be preceded by a luncheon at Rappahannock Westminster- Canterbury in Irvington at noon.

Historic Christ Church is at Weems, a short distance from Irvington.
