Pancoast wins RAL Small Works Award

Shauna McCrainie, judge and former art teacher at Lancaster High School, awarded first place to Jim Pancoast in the Rappahannock Art League’s (RAL) July exhibit Small Works. There were 77 entries in this popular and high-quality show.
Pancoast’s work was an oil painting titled “Hard Times.”

Second place awards were given to Catherine Canady Cottrell for her watercolor “Old Friends” and to Gail Weyant for her photo “Waterlily Magic.” Third place awards were given to Kathryn Murray for her photo “Turquoise and Gold Ribbon,” and to “Lollipop Hill,” an acrylic by Garry-Lou Upton.

Honorable mentions were awarded to Jacquie Colligan, Sharon Fisher, Nancy Reath, Trainor Roden, and Ann Vliet.

The show at the Studio Gallery, 19 N. Main Street, Kilmarnock, will run through July 26.
