‘Oldies’ take center stage at Donk’s Theater Saturday

This Saturday, November 10, Donk’s Theater in Mathews will feature its “Oldies Show” with country songs and R&R/disco favorites from the 1970s complete with costumes. 

The first half of the show will feature the country oldies of Jeanne Pruett, Linda Ronstadt, Tammy Wynette, Faron Young, Hank Williams Sr., Hank Williams Jr., Barbara Mandrell, Jack Green and more.

The second half of the show will feature the rock-and-roll favorites of The Eagles, Jim Croce, Fleetwood Mac, Marvin Gay, Taste of Honey, Ike & Tina Turner, ABBA, and more.

Farren Winter, 10, of Gloucester will perform “Proud Mary.”

Special guest appearances will be made by Walt Stillman, Leann Abbott, Michele Thacker, Richard Smith and, of course, Opry cast members Lynda Smith, Steve Motley, Deanna Mullins, Ralph Motley,  P.J. Owens, Phil Johnson, Tracy Hill, and more.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the door.
