New exhibit to open at Allure Art Center

Art in the “Abstract to Contemporary” exhibit

The “Abstract to Contemporary” exhibit features Virginia artists who work in either an abstract or contemporary genre with some straddling and blurring the lines. “From colorful and bright to thought provoking, the works in the exhibit will elicit reaction, emotion and wonderment, which most great art strives to do,” said Allure Art Center owner Jeff Cherry.

The exhibit will run from June 15 until July 8 in the main gallery at Allure Art Center at 419 Rappahannock Drive in White Stone.

“From modernist landscapes to an exploration of dreams and relationships, featuring unexpected colors and emotions, these works will hopefully engage emotions and thought,” said Cherry. “The influence of famous artists such as Salvador Dali, Paul Gauguin, Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackson Pollock, Henri Matisse and Andy Warhol can be seen in the works. From large wall-sized works to small miniature studies in a variety of media, the show is one not to miss. Come out and experience a very different collection of works steeped in historical artistic influences.”
