Museum oyster roast and dance are Saturday

The 12th Annual Oyster Roast and Dance is this Saturday, September 8, from 5-9 p.m. at the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park.

And it will be oysters, oysters, oysters, served on the half shell, steamed, and, served as the increasingly popular Oysters Rockefeller by Chef Rob as the mainstay on the buffet. The oyster roast will be held in the museum’s spacious Events Pavilion.

The oyster roast begins with a social hour from 5-6 p.m., the buffet is open from 6-7 p.m., and the dance with the “Jukes Boogie Band” playing “light” during social hour and full-tilt “boogie” for the dance until closing. The Jukes play boogie in all its incarnations with a mix of roots rock, blues and pop. Bring your dancing shoes. There will be a wine/beer cash bar.

Tickets for the oyster roast and dance are now $45.

The Annual Maritime Park Members Meeting precedes the oyster roast from 4-5 p.m. As always, the members meeting is open to the public.
