Mathews House Tour due June 8
The 2013 Mathews County House Tour will be Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., rain or shine.
Featured on this year’s tour are 19th-century Bethel United Methodist Church; 18th-century farmhouse Folly Farm; 1057 Old Garden Creek Road overlooking Garden Creek with views of the Chesapeake Bay; early 20th-century farmhouse Peony Flats with a display of early photographs; and 19th-century Skidmore Manor on Queens Creek.
Pre-tour tickets may be purchased for $20 at either the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center, and Flowers From The Heart. Tickets cost $25 on the day of the tour and will be available at each house. Single house tickets are $10 each.
Other places of interest for tour-goers are Thomas James Store and Tompkins Cottage, both located in Mathews Court House.
