Maritime Museum: North wing trusses are installed
|From left, volunteers Chuck McGhinnis and Marvin Tiller do the “head’s up” thing as they rise into the new vaulted ceiling of the north enclosed wing of the Deltaville Maritime Museum’s new events pavilion.|
The 30-foot scissor lift, donated for project use by Jim Fitzgerald of Deltaville NAPA, makes it possible for the volunteers to rise inside the rafters at any point in the rafter system to attach bracing and infrastructure.
All the north wing trusses are now installed. Fascia, overhangs and internal walls are in process, getting ready for the roofing. Above, three workers are visible 96 feet away at the back wall working on the walls for the new kitchen facility. The new serving counter is right in front of the workers. Above, to the right of the orange step ladder, is the new annual events storage space. Come by and take a look or volunteer to help. (Photo by Bill Powell)
