Local band nominated

“Stuck On A Name” a Reggae/Ska/Punk/Rock band based in Urbanna, has been nominated for a 2013 Virginia Reggae Award (VRA). Now in its 6th year, the Virginia Reggae Awards recognize those who work tirelessly to keep the Virginia Reggae music scene vibrant.

The VRA is a peoples award. Fans will decide the outcome. Voting is the only way to guarantee that your favorite band wins. “Stuck On A Name is up against some big names in the Virginia Reggae scene and could use your support,” said band member Joe Gaskins.

To vote, go to (use Facebook to log in) and vote for your favorite band. You can vote once a day until the awards show on May 4 at Mill Point Park in Hampton. Stuck On A Name will be playing at the awards show.

Stuck On A Name’s new EP can be streamed at their Bandcamp site. The band plays originals and covers some classic favorites sometimes with a reggae/ska twist.

Virginia Reggae hosts two reggae festivals a year in Hampton—the Buckroe Beach Reggae Festival in the summer and Hampton Reggae Fest (at the Hampton Coliseum) in the winter.
