Local artists sought for Arts in the Middle

Arts in the Middle (AIM) has issued a “call to local artists,” inviting local artists to show and sell their art during the 4th Annual Arts in the Middle Fine Art Festival at Hewick Plantation on Saturday and Sunday, June 2-3. In discussing the “call,” Candie Newman, AIM’s local artist coordinator, said, “The Middle Peninsula/Northern Neck area is home to a number of talented individuals who may not normally participate in outdoor shows. We take this opportunity to reach out and encourage them to submit applications to show and sell their fine work.”

Newman further said, “Not only does the show provide an opportunity otherwise not available to our local talent, this is a great venue to showcase the variety and depth of talent of those who call this region home. Each year has seen a different mix of media in the local art tent. We look forward to an equally exciting mix of artists and mediums this year.”

To join the local artist tent, artists should visit the Arts in the Middle website at artsinthemiddle.com, send photos of the artwork, and submit a simple application.

Late applicants have until February 10 to apply through the online art festival application service, zapplication at https://www.zapplication.org/event-info.php?ID=6003. Applications and instructions are also available on the AIM website at http://www.artsinthemiddle.org. Exhibiting artist jury decisions will be announced on March 1.
