As the events season at Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park continues, the maritime park will present its new Turner Lecture Series at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, with “The Lens of Jay Fleming.”

A photographic chronicler of all things Chesapeake Bay, check out Jay’s stunning body of work at Refreshments will be served. RSVP please.

Paraphrased from Jay’s website: It would seem that Jay discovered his passion for photography upon inheriting his father’s hand-me-down Nikon film camera at the young age of 13. He immediately developed an affinity to looking at life through the lens of his camera and what ensued was an exciting photographic journey that would eventually lead him to his career as professional photographer.

We encourage our members and friends to come out and attend these lectures. The museum’s educational activities are important to our mission. Call the museum office at 804-776-7200 to RSVP, or email the museum staff at . Museum hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 12-4 p.m. Sunday.
