‘Jumbo Lump Daddy’ Saturday in Urbanna

image
“Jumbo Lump Daddy & the Backfin Boys” will perform at Taber Park on Rappahannock Avenue in Urbanna on Saturday, July 18, in the third “Music Under the Stars” concert sponsored by the Urbanna Business Association and Town of Urbanna. These musical evenings in the park are designed for the whole family and there is no admission charge.

Picnics begin at 6 p.m. and the concert at 7 p.m.  A prize will be awarded for the most appealing picnic.  Bring blankets and chairs.  Owners of antique cars are invited to display their vehicles at the concert.

In the four years since its formation, “Jumbo Lump Daddy and the Backfin Boys” has delighted audiences with their infectious style of music to become one of the most popular bands in the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck area.

This four-piece band includes Clayton Neal, aka Jumbo Lump Daddy (vocals, guitar and harmonica); Gary Archer, the “Tone Chaperone” (vocals and guitars); Winnie McCrobie (vocals and drums); and Jim Gallon (vocals and bass).

The group performs a genre-defying style of “rivahdacious” music that blends rock ‘n roll, blues, country, and rhythm ‘n blues.

It has been said that a musical performance by this group “is like taking a road trip down the music highway.  You never know where the music will take you, but you know it will always be fun!”

Although there is no admission charge for Music Under the Stars concerts, donations will be accepted.
