‘Jumbo Lump Daddy’ rocks Urbanna Saturday

Those who missed “Jumbo Lump Daddy and the Backfin Boys” at the July concert, will have another opportunity to hear this band at “Music Under the Stars” in Taber Park  on Rappahannock Avenue in Urbanna this Saturday, August 15.

Picnickers are invited to set up at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m..  A prize will be awarded for the “most appealing” picnic table.  Owners of antique cars and trucks are invited to  show their vehicles  at the  park.

The large crowd that attended the July concert attests to the popularity of this music group.  The four musicians—Clayton Neal, Gary Archer, Winnie McCrobie, and Jim Gallon—have been playing together for the last four years,  but each one of them individually has a lengthy resume of musical experience.  As a group, they have put together a genre-defying style of music that blends rock ‘n roll, blues, country, and rhythm ‘n blues.

“It has been said that a performance by “Jumbo Lump Daddy and the Backfin Boys” is like taking a road trip down the music highway,” said a concert spokesperson. "The traveler never knows where the music will take him, but he knows that it will always be fun!”
