Ginger Inabinet will perform a free concert tonight, August 27, at 7 p.m. at the Mathews Memorial Library on Main Street in Mathews.

The concert will include a salute to the military, patriotic sing-a-longs and favorites from American musicals. Kathy Merithew will be accompanying her.

Inabinet was raised in Mathews and graduated from Mathews High School. She attended Furman University in Greenville, S.C., and received a masters in vocal performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston. She has performed with New York City Opera, Virginia Opera, Central City Opera and Santa Fe Opera. She currently lives in New York City, where she is a frequent soloist in local venues. This past December she was thrilled to sing at Carnegie Hall for the first time.

Inabinet also is a professional storyteller and has toured libraries throughout Virginia performing for summer reading clubs. This summer she has been back in Virginia working as the Summer Children’s Coordinator for the Middlesex County Public Library, performing seven story hour programs a week and having lots of fun with arts and crafts.
