Great Decisions to begin series

Great Decisions will begin its annual series on international affairs at 10 a.m on Friday, January 25, with a talk and discussion about nuclear negotiations. Eight additional sessions will take place on successive Fridays at the Deltaville Community Center, 17147 General Puller Highway.

Other topics for the season include the rise of European populism, global migration of refugees, the U.S. State Department, and India and its neighbors. The national Foreign Policy Association chooses the topics and also publishes a briefing book that provides history and background on each.

The 2019 book will be available in January at the Middlesex County libraries. The price is $25.

Great Decisions has taken place locally each winter for more than 25 years. There is no charge to participate and anyone interested in foreign affairs is welcome to come and also to take part in the discussion that follows the speaker’s talk.

Speakers are all volunteers as are those who put the programs together: Stan Coloff, Connie Harris, Mary Lib Hoinkes, Jim Knupp, Bill Puttmann, Gary Richardson, and Dave Wilcox.
